Obituary

Robert W. "Bob" Briggs of Marshfield passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and family at the age of 85 on September 21, 2015. Born in Boston, and raised and educated in Watertown, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean conflict, after which he attended the Wentworth Institute of Technology. Bob moved to Marshfield in 1966, where he worked as an independent craftsman in carpentry. He later became a member of the Boston Carpenters Union Local 33.

Bob was known for his warm sense of humor and his deep devotion to his family—especially his beloved wife of 61 years, Constance "Connie" (Henderson) Briggs, who survives him. He was the father of Cynthia Hess and her husband Ronald of Nevada, as well as Pamela Lee and her late husband Jason. Bob was also the grandfather of Constance Morris and Robert Briggs, Leland "J.J." Lee, and Adam Lee, and the great grandfather of Marcus, Elizabeth and Jane. He leaves behind a brother, Richard Briggs, who resides in Connecticut, along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 229 Highland Street, Marshfield.
