Robert A. Clyde, 77, of Kingston MA and long-time Humarock resident, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 21 st surrounded by his family. Rob, known to friends as Bubba, was born on August 23, 1945, in New Brunswick, Canada and raised in Quincy, MA. He married his high-school sweetheart Gracia (Hogan) and they were blessed with 53 years of marriage raising their children in Humarock. Rob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before joining the Norwell Police Department where he dutifully served his community for 35 years. He was a man of faith and a member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Hanover.
Rob is survived by his wife Gracia and his two sons, Keith and Lynne (Robertson) Clyde of Scituate MA and KC and Christina (Perez) of Plymouth MA. He was also the treasured Papa of Caroline (8) and Grace (6) of Scituate MA and leaves behind his sister Gloria Scott and brothers Tom and Tony Van Horne all of New Brunswick. Rob was preceded in death by his loving parents Alexander and Margaret (Bennett) Clyde of Quincy MA as well as his brothers Sherman, Donald, Perry and Bruce Van Horne also from New Brunswick.
While Rob enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family and many close friends; he could be found smiling while tending to his dogs, koi pond and flowers, playing cards and of course watching the Patriots, Bruins and Red Sox. He never missed his sons playing sports and could often be found coaching the boys and their friends. More recently he relished in seeing Caroline and Grace playing baseball in the same fields as Keith and KC once had. He and Gracia enjoyed traveling together, cruising with friends and entertaining in Humarock; they ended each day saying "love you more".
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rob's name to the American Lung Association, online at https://www.lung.org/
