Robert (Bob) Demers of Marshfield passed away on Oct. 9, 2023 at the age of 82.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen (Callahan), his sister Gail and brother-in-law Roger Menard of Florida, daughter Kelly and husband Andrew Blickenderfer of Somerville, MA, daughter Joan and husband Brian Bittner of Aurora, IL, grandchildren Angel Papineau , Emma Blickenderfer and Kaylee Bittner.

Bob graduated from Taunton High School, Bridgewater State College and Boston College.  He worked as a chemist for two years before his dream job opened as a college professor where he taught for 45 years at Massasoit Community College. He loved learning with varied interests including ham radio, navigation, time pieces, slide rules, computers, measurement, outdoor hiking, running, archery, banjo, chess, animals, especially cats.

Bob loved to travel and visited multiple countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. His favorite store was Fedeles.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield, and will conclude with a memorial service at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
