Dennett, Robert of Marshfield, passed away on January 18, 2016 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of 56 years to the late Margaret (Pollard) Dennett. Dear father of Guy Dennett of Hull, Michael Dennett and his wife Rosemary of Duxbury, Gary Dennett and his wife Linda of Hull, Paul Dennett and his wife Melinda of Kingston, Robert Dennett of Hull, and Katie Mueller and her husband Bob of Hull. He also leaves eleven grandchildren, Amy, Steven, Ryan, Kayla, Leigha, Westen, Trever, Bobby, Jessica, Amanda, and Sara. He also leaves two great grandchildren; Bradley and Mickey.

Bob lived in Green Harbor with his family for most of his life having moved from Boston in 1957. He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with the DPW department out of Duxbury for more than 20 years. Over the years, he bartended evenings at local restaurants in Marshfield; the Ranch House, The Bridgewaye Inn, and Plett's Pub. He loved sports, including playing softball and jogging. For many years he played softball for the "Over The Hill Gang" on Sunday mornings. In his retirement, he and his wife Margaret enjoyed relaxing at the beach, as well as spending time with their family.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home Friday, January 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury. Interment will be in Mayflower Cemetery.
