Robert T. Duffy of Marshfield, Ma passed away at the age of 73. Born in Chelsea at the Boston Naval Yard Hospital to the late Edward and Mary Duffy, he graduated from Hyde Park High in 1961. Robert received a Certificate of Completion from Chamberlayne Junior College 1963, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from New England School of Law 1966, Newbury Junior College an Associate Degree in Applied Science 1978, and a Bachelor Of Science Degree in Business Management Stonehill College 1981. Robert was a decorated Air Force veteran 1967-1971 serving in Wichita Falls and Abilene, Texas as a physical therapy corpsman, SSGT, and was a recipient of the National Service Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Air Force Outstanding Unit award.

After his military service he worked at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in physical therapy 1971-1973. In 1973 he started as a claims taker for the Division of Employment and Training (D.U.A.) Commonwealth of Massachusetts and worked his way up to Interstate Coordinator until he retired in 2002. Governor Dukakis awarded him Employee of the year 1985. The last 27 years of his life he has lived in Green Harbor, Marshfield, with his wife and family. Robert was the beloved husband of Patricia Karen Duffy for 44 years, devoted father to Patricia E. Duffy and Matthew E. Duffy, and loving grandfather to Ian J. Duffy. Brother to the late Edward (Sonny) Duffy, the late Margaret Devereaux of Stoneham, and the late Mary Jane Igo of Hingham and Marshfield.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday February 12, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home Saturday, February 13 at 9:00 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Interment will be in Couch Cemetery.
