Robert D. Fader, 81 of Duxbury, passed away on December 2, 2018, surrounded by his family, after a period of declining health. Beloved husband of Linda (White) Fader; loving father of Scott Fader and his wife Laura of Hanover, and grandfather of Lucy, Amanda, and Ethan. Brother of the late George Fader of Taunton, he also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Bob was a Navy Veteran who served on the "Hurricane Hunters" naval vessels in the Caribbean Sea. In later years, he and Linda enjoyed numerous sailboat trips to St. John and the Virgin Islands. He also enjoyed sailing the waters off Duxbury, the lovely seaside town where he and Linda settled in the home that he built. Bob held a degree in Engineering from Wentworth Instititute of Technology, and was a skilled "Tin Smith" who created metal lanterns and lighting fixtures at the Brass Lantern shop in Plymouth.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield, MA. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
