Robert Davis Kelly, a retired Marshfield Police Officer of 42 years, passed away on May 30, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late RoseMarie (Capodanno) Kelly. Beloved step-father of Deborah McHugh, Rosemary Vaughan and husband Daniel, and Donald Davis. Grandfather of Tom, Matt, Noelle, Sophia, RoseMarissa, Anthony, Maria, Eva, Kevin and Austin, along with 8 great-grandchildren. Robert leaves behind two sisters, Nancy Kelly Tobias and Cindy Kelly Marsaw. He is predeceased by brothers Richard Henderson Kelly and Donald James Kelly. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Robert (Bob) grew up in Norwell and attended Weymouth Technical High School. Later in life he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University. Bob served in the Navy as an Airman Navigation Specialist. He served as a proud and dedicated member of the Marshfield Police Department fof 42 years. Alongside being a Police Officer, Bob was an amazing custom home builder and built many homes on the South Shore for family members and friends.

Throughout his life Bob was an avid motorcycle rider, spending many days riding the countryside with his cherished friends. First and foremost he enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and never missed a game. He kept busy caring for his beautiful home, which he built, along with always fixing and repairing his vehicles, lawnmowers, and any other gadget needing repair. Bob truly was a "Jack of all trades"; and a quiet and gentle man who was loved and respected by all.

Visitation hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield on Monday, June 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery.
