Robert F. Lowry of Hanover, formerly of Marshfield, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 1, 2022, just a few months shy of his 92 ^nd birthday. Beloved husband of the late Joan B. (Whitehead) Lowry, he was dear father of Linda J. Metivier and her husband James of Hanover, Gayle F. Lowry of Hanover, and the late Robert F. Lowry, Jr., and cherished grandfather of Brian R. Metivier, Kristin L. Metivier, Ashley Lowry Nee, Robert F. Lowry, III, Ryan J. Lowry, and great-grandchildren Jacob E. and Sofia Metivier, James Ryan Lowry, and Douglas and Kaitlin Malloch. Son of the late Leo and Margaret (Smith) Lowry, he is predeceased by his siblings Delores, William, Leo, and Patricia.

Robert was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury and the South End. He married his wife Joan at the age of 18 and they lived in Boston and Jamaica Plain until moving their family to Marshfield in 1968. In 1982 Robert started his own construction company which he owned and operated until retirement. He moved to Hanover to live with his daughter Gayle in 2011.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Family Parish Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland, MA 02370. Interment will be in the Hanover Center Cemetery.
