Robert Jude Madden of Duxbury died peacefully with his loving family by his side on Friday, June 8th.
Son of the late Agnes (nee Dole) and Val Madden. He is survived by his sister Virginia and her husband Gary Richardson of New Jersey and his brothers Charles of Foxboro and Jack and his wife Rosemary of Duxbury. Bob also leaves behind seven nieces and nephews and six grandnieces and nephews.
Bob had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and he faithfully wore a Miraculous Medal every day of his life.
Bob enjoyed family gatherings and taking many pictures with his favorite Polaroid camera. He loved to travel and write in his journals. Bob was a dedicated worker at Road to Responsibility in Marshfield for many years.
Bob was an avid fan of Star Trek. He knew all the names of the characters and their roles in the series. His favorite color and flavor was orange.
Bob supported Native American Charities. He also supported Express Yourself Community Connections, a division of Road to Responsibility in Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, donations to these organizations would be appreciated.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. Funeral procession from the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 for a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Burial will be in the New Calvary Cemetery in Boston.
