It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald A. Matheson, 78 of Marshfield, formerly of Bourne, Massachusetts. Ron, as he was known to his family and friends, passed away on May 16, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Ron is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pamela R. (Pinel) Matheson and his two sons, Scott K. Matheson and partner Cathy of Henniker, New Hampshire, Glenn A. Matheson and his wife Lisa of Attleboro, Massachusetts, his three grandsons Noah, Declan, and Evan, his sister Valerie Giovanni of Stoneham, Massachusetts, his sister in-law Deborah Barnhill of Abington, Massachusetts, a niece and two nephews. Ron also leaves behind many close friends who were like family to him.

Ron was born in Boston, Massachusetts, son of the late Neil and Margaret (Adams) Matheson. He graduated from Boston English High School and worked at Star Market for many years. Ron retired from Morris, Alper & Sons, Inc. of Brookline, Massachusetts after a long and successful 28-year career as a Food Broker.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman throughout his life, enjoying hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He was also a Charter Fishing Captain out of Scituate Harbor on the "Pisces" for many years. After retirement, Ron and Pam enjoyed spending time in Maine, traveling and many activities together, such as riding motorcycles and driving Corvettes. Ron was an active member of the Monument Beach Sportsman Club, the Cape Cod Corvette Club, and the New England Corvette Club.
