Roy F Kirby Sr., long time Marshfield resident, passed away at his home late Friday evening, February 16, 2018, succumbing to recent health struggles.

Son of Eileen Johnson & Edward Kirby.  Roy's career path led him to woodworking at a young age by making ship-in-a-bottles and he followed his passion to finishing his career path as a master finish carpenter.  Throughout his life he spent much of his free time giving back to his community, being named citizen of the year in 2003 for his leadership in the Marshfield Skatepark Project.  Additionally, he spent many years as an active member of the Marshfield Kiwanis, loved playing Santa during the Christmas Season and most recently was a key member in the restoration of Marshfield's historical Hatch Mill.

Roy was a beloved Father, Grandfather and Brother.  Survived by his son, RJ and Kortni (Long), Rj's son (his) grandson Jackson, brother Paul and sister Jane.

Services will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street Marshfield.
