Russell A. Small of Carver passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025. Born on September 19, 1939 in the Cohasset Hospital located on Sohier Street. Russell was the son of the late Evelyn and Leonard Small. He grew up in Scituate, MA until his family moved to Pembroke Maine and then moved back to Scituate as a young adult.
Russell is survived by his loving wife Madeline Small, his daughter Lisa Keohan of Duxbury and his son Anthony Small and his wife Bridget of Middleboro. He was a loving grandfather and "Pa" to the late Brendan Keohan and survived by his grandchildren, Anthony Palmer-Small, Caleb Keohan, Mary Keohan, Annette Small and Andrew Small. He was also a proud great grandfather to Avery Palmer-Small.
Russell and Madeline met on the dance floor at a music venue on the South Shore and were married in Quincy on October 8, 1967. They lived in Quincy, Cohasset, Scituate, Pembroke, Plymouth and then in 2023, settled in a lovely close knit retirement community in Carver, MA. Russell was a storyteller, loving husband, supportive father, proud grandfather and even a dog granddad. He traveled with his family though the years on many adventures and then on many cruises with his wife. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Interment will be private, and he will be laid to rest with his late grandson at the Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury, MA.
