Ruth A. Bumpus, of Marshfield, and Brockton passed peacefully on September 30, 2022. She was 80 years old, raised and educated in Duxbury, MA and daughter of the late Estelle C. Hutchinson and Arthur Robert Sr. She was predeceased by her longtime companion Thomas Ducey of Brockton, MA. She currently resided at Tea Rock Gardens in Marshfield after moving there from Brockton. She was loved and cherished by many and had loads of friends.

She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and NASCAR races. On any given day she would be calling her friends about a game or sporting event and was known to tap on the ceiling to alert her neighbor when her home team scored. She recently had made a trip to Nashville TN, and Kentucky, which had been on her bucket list for years. She was able to visit with her stepfamily, relatives and grandchildren, and it truly was her trip of a lifetime. Anyone who went to visit Ruthie was welcomed, there would always be "Country and Western" music playing or local sports on the TV; Red Sox always being the favorite.

She is survived by 2 daughters Betty Hutchinson and her companion Scott Machado of Rochester, MA: Sherry L. Regan and her husband Ed Regan of Tewksbury, MA. 3 Grandsons, Brendon Allen of Marshfield, MA, John M. Allen III, and his longtime partner Ryan Clark of Akron Ohio; Christopher and Yvonne Allen of Bethel Ohio and was soon to be great grandmother to Estelle V. Allen who is "on the way" and expected any day. She was very excited about her first great -granddaughter and sadly did not get the chance to meet her. She is also survived by her sister Jean L. Sherman of Plymouth and a brother A. Robert Hutchinson, Jr., of Ocala, FL. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, stepdaughters and stepsons.

Visiting hours and a celebration of life will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield Massachusetts on Saturday October 29, 2022, from 1:00 to 4:00, prayer service will be at 3:30.
