Obituary

Jordan (Noftle), Ruth P. of Hanover, formerly of Wakefield, died peacefully November 18th, at the age of 90. Ruth was born in Malden, MA on July 5th, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Sophie Noftle.
Ruth Jordan was an avid runner, running her first Boston Marathon at age 59, with her son, Robert Jordan. She continued to run many races throughout New England, receiving trophies at every event. Ruth displayed her trophies proudly, as to encourage and inspire others.
Ruth was a talented poem writer whose work was published in several newspapers. She wrote about the natural beauty of New England and historical events. Ruth recently learned, her poem she wrote in 1969 honoring President Eisenhower, was added to the museum collection at the Eisenhower National Historic Site in Gettysburg, PA.
Ruth was a member of Tremont Temple Baptist Church in Boston for 65 years. She was faithful to God, church and her family. These were her greatest treasures.
Ruth Jordan touched many lives with her generosity and love. She blessed all that knew her with her energy, enthusiasm, laughter and love of life. Ruth celebrated her 90th Birthday on July 5th, singing her favorite church hymns with family and friends.
Ruth was the beloved wife of 60 years, to the late Henry Jordan. Loving mother of Douglas Jordan of Destin, Florida, Robert Jordan and his wife Mary Jean of Wakefield, Nancy Metcalfe and her husband Russell of Marshfield. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer and her husband Mathew, Melissa and her husband Jason, Russell, Timothy and Jonathan. Dear great grandmother of Jason David, Madison, Weston, Rowan and Annabelle.
A private family memorial service will be held Monday, November 24th, MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield, MA. Burial will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
