Ruth Alma (Johnson) Poczik, of Marshfield, passed away on February 12, 2018 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late Charles Poczik and dear mother of Patricia Ludwig of Marshfield and William Kern and his wife Judi of Georgia. Ruth predeceased her brother, David Johnson, by a day. She leaves a sister in-law, Dorothy Johnson of New Jersey, a son in-law, Richard Ludwig of Plymouth, and two nephews, Douglas and Daniel Johnson. Ruth was predeceased by her nephew, Donald Johnson. Ruth was the cherished grandmother of Stacey Stratton (Justin) of Marshfield, Karly Pinizzotto (Steve) of Delaware, Stephanie Kern of Georgia, and the great-grandmother to Daniel, Thomas and Joseph Stratton and Claire and Owen Pinizzotto.

Ruth worked at Rutgers Preparatory School in Somerset, NJ from 1962 to 1988.  She reluctantly retired when computers were brought into the school.  She was a member of Christ Church in New Brunswick, NJ for decades and was part of their St. Faith Women's group for many years.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home immediately following visiting hours for a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 465 First Parish Road in Scituate.  Burial will be private.

Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Ventress Memorial Library, 15 Library Plaza, Marshfield, MA 02050, where she volunteered for ten years.
