Sarah J. McGuane, 39, of Weymouth and Washington, D.C., passed away on June 5, 2016. She was a native of Marshfield and the beloved daughter of Ann "Punky" Allen.
A member of the Marshfield High School Class of 1995, where she was graduated with highest honors, Sarah received a BA from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Suffolk University. She was employed as a Financial Analyst at the Washington, D.C. law firm of McTigue, LLP. She was also a former employee of JP Morgan in New York City, as well as State Street Bank in Boston.
Sarah was an adventurous spirit and loved to travel with friends. Diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer, she battled her way through several years of grueling treatments, outliving her original diagnosis and never letting the disease be a reason or excuse to stop living and experiencing life on her own terms. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sarah also leaves a sister, Meghan Hughes, and her husband, Andrew, of Weymouth, a niece Liliana and nephew Lincoln. She was dedicated to her large, loving family including many aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves her boyfriend, Tony Landis of Washington, D.C. Sarah is survived by her father, Joseph Roche of Huntington Beach, CA.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Marshfield. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00, also at the funeral home.
