Sarah K. Sullivan of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2021 at the age of 83 after a brief illness. Beloved daughter of the late George and Florence Lindauer; Loving mother of Kimberly (Fraser) Nelson of Hull and Susan (Fraser) O'Halloran and her husband Christopher of Marshfield. Sarah leaves her beloved sister, Susan (Lindauer) Macri, of Hingham. Cherished grandmother of Sarah Nelson of Quincy, Carrie (Nelson) Deangelis and her husband Sean of Virginia, Michael Nelson, Lauren (O'Halloran) DeAngelo and her husband Michael of Abington and Michael O'Halloran of Weymouth. And the absolute light of her eye great grandmother to Sophia and Olivia Deangelis and Abigail and Callie DeAngelo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her long-time companion John Foley.
Sarah worked at the Ventress Memorial Library for many years before working as secretary for the DPW in Marshfield until her retirement in 2006. If you lived in Marshfield or ever visited Marshfield you knew Sarah and there is evidence of her all through the town. She started and ran the Adopt an Island program as well as making Marshfield part of Tree City USA through the Arbor Day Foundation. Sarah was talented beyond her years as a writer, guitar player, artist, self-taught harpist and avid gardener. She will be affectionately missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Marshfield on Wednesday August 4, 2021 at 11:00 am, to be followed by a celebration of life at Haddad's Ocean Café. In keeping with Sarah's wishes, please dress comfortably, no formal attire required.
