Obituary

Sean Christopher Marcella of Humarock, MA, passed away suddenly at home on May 31, 2021 at the age of 54, after a long battle with Diabetes.

Sean was the loving fiance of 21 years to Jeannie Cleary, formerly of Braintree, MA. He was the loving father to his K-9 companion, "Compass", who was his daily sidekick.

He was the beloved son to Helen (Keefe Marcella) Prasso of Vero Beach, FL (formerly of Hull and Marshfield, MA) and his stepfather, the late Charles Prasso.

Sean was predeceased by his father Philip M Marcella of Hull and Marshfield, MA and his brother Philip M (Michael) Marcella, Jr. of Marshfield, MA

He leaves behind his dear siblings, sister, Faith Dernier (Jason) of Marshfield, MA and brother, Bryan Marcella (Donna) of Marshfield, MA. He was greatly adored by many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends by whom he will be intensely missed,

In addition, he leaves behind many brothers, sisters, In laws, nephews, nieces and great nieces and nephews of his fiance's family, The Clearys are formerly from Braintree, MA

His love for all of his nieces and nephews was immeasurable. Uncle Sean was there for every important event in their lives. He was the fan in the stands for football, lacrosse and basketball games, even though recent problems with his eyesight prevented him from seeing the games, he was still there.

Sean was born and raised in Marshfield, MA and graduated from Duxbury High School in 1986. He eventually settled in Humarock, but spent most days on the sea in Duxbury Harbor running his mooring service, Downeast Mariner.

Although the South Shore was his home, Sean treasured his once or twice a year trips to Vero Beach, FL to visit his mother. His intention was to semi-retire there in the next year or two. He had a mutual admiration relationship with all her friends, even though there was a big age difference.

Sean accomplished multiple things throughout his short life including the Army National Guard. He grew up on the water and spent many years lobstering and tuna fishing out of Brant Rock. In the early 90's he spent a few years in Las Vegas working as a roofer. There he made many good friends with whom he was still close to. He started his own construction company at a young age called Decks R' Us. This then led to the launch of his company, Downeast Construction. During this phase of his career, he was sought out for building extravagant homes in Martha's Vineyard, Hawaii and all over the South shore.

Sean leaves so many people behind who loved him dearly the world will never be the same without his kind loving soul.

Sean cherished the extensive butterfly collection that was passed down from his Uncle Jay, then to his brother Michael and then to him.
