Obituary

Sharon P. Carpenter, age 63 of Rockland, passed away on October 26,2022 surrounded by friends and family after a long battle with cancer. She was a loving mother of William "Bill Jr" Carpenter of Norton, and Lisa (Carpenter) Ricciardi of Rockland; and cherished grandmother of Lacey and William Carpenter of Florida. She was the wife of the late William A Carpenter Sr., and daughter of the late Patricia Chaponis and Albert Delorey of Florida. Sharon leaves behind her sister Dale DeLorey of Florida, twin brother Shawn DeLorey of Maine and brother Glenn DeLorey of Whitman. She had a special place in her heart for Courtney Lennon of Florida, and her son in law Jeffrey Ricciardi of Rockland, along with many friends and family.

Sharon was playfully nicknamed "Bucky" by her daughter Lisa, and the two of them together were the best of friends. Oftentimes all you could hear were giggles and would immediately think what are they up to now, as they were tricksters. They enjoyed their time together running errands, walking around Plymouth and snacking on Lays potato chips. When they were not up to their usual antics, Sharon could be found spending time with her son in law Jeffrey and chatting about cars, and the "good ol times". Sharon and her son Bill Jr, spent their time by the campfire, and enjoying pizza (with extra cheese). They loved to find unique things and take pictures of them, whether they were flowers, bugs or oddly shaped trees. She could also be found watching over her grandkids Lacey and William, while Bill Jr and his kids were riding ATVs, all while she was sipping on a cup of coffee with Courtney. Sharon had such a soft spot for her grandkids Lacey and William. Lacey shared Sharon's love for art, and frequently drew together, or colored in "GG's" pictures. Lacey also enjoyed showing Sharon her tiktoks, stuffed animals, and toys. Sometimes they would take videos together with dolls, and every doll had a different voice, it was quite humorous. William would often talk to "GG" about his video games or would show her his new hot wheels. Sharon would often find unique hot wheels for him or tell him all about the type of "old" car he was playing with, she really had a thing for Chevy Camaros.

Sharon was the beloved wife of the late William A Carpenter Sr. of 40 years, and they ran Bill's Service and Repair of Marshfield for many years, with their son Bill Jr. Sharon was very active in the community with Sowing Seeds, the Masonic Lodge and more. She spent part of her summer working at the Masonic booth at the Marshfield Fair, where the "brothers" became like a second family to her. Sharon had just received an award back in June for her dedication to the Lodge, which she was very proud of.

Sharon was well known in the community for her big heart, readiness to help, and trustworthiness. When Sharon was not working, spending time with her family/friends or giving back to the community she was working on her art. She was an amazing artist who could draw anything by just looking at a photo. Her art of choice consisted of colored pencils, with her favorite subject being nature.
