Stephen King Donovan, aged 81, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2024 at his home in Duxbury, Massachusetts. He was born on December 2,1942 in South Weymouth to Carol and William Donovan. He attended Weymouth Public Schools until he joined the Navy, where he served for four years. He then served as a Peace Corps volunteer in India for two years. Upon his return, he worked as a photographer for the Weymouth News and later took over his father's printing and office supply business. He married the love of his life, Mary, on June 22, 1980 in South Weymouth. An outdoorsman, Steve was happiest in the woods, clearing paths, cutting down dead trees, and landscaping his yard into a natural oasis. He was an accomplished poet and writer, and no occasion would pass without his writing a heartfelt (and humorous) poem. He went out of his way to help anyone in need, never seeking the spotlight but always driven to make others' lives easier.
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary; his younger brother, Thomas Donovan and his wife Sane; his son Mark Donovan and his husband Chris; his daughter Katrina Fleming and her husband Ryan; his son Eric Spinney and his wife Kerry; his son Joshua Donovan and his wife Caitlin; and his four grandchildren: Liam, Owen, Addison, and Samuel.
