Stephen Beryl Sones, of Marshfield, MA, died on April 28, 2016 at the age of 72. He was born in Brookline, MA, went to Newton South High School, and graduated from the University of Maine, Orono (where he played baseball with the renowned '64 Black Bears).

Steve was the son of the late Louis and Jacqueline J. Sones; loving partner of Ellen Tinajera; beloved brother of Geoffrey Sones and wife Ruth, and Deborah Megrian and husband Gordon; devoted father of Jacqueline L. Sones and husband Eric Sanford, and Jennifer Zaslaw and husband David; proud grandfather of Katie and Kyle Zaslaw; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews; and nephew to many aunts and uncles.

Among many things, Steve was a local fisherman, an entrepreneur, and delivered newspapers on the South Shore. He was a lobsterman for many years, co-founder of the Fourth Cliff Lobster Co., and an avid striper fisherman. He was a resident of Trouants Island for over 35 years. We will greatly miss his smile, sense of humor, strength in the face of adversity, and the pleasure he took in helping others.

Steve's memorial service will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Steve's name can be made to the American Heart Association (donatenow.heart.org) or the Massachusetts Audubon Society (massaudubon.org).
