Steven Gray passed away on Saturday March 1, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Son of the late John and Beatrice (Lowell) Gray, Steven grew up in Marshfield and was a graduate of MHS class of 1973. Steven excelled in MHS Track and Field and thrived in Woodworking class, where his passion for carpentry started. Steven worked as a carpenter with his close friends in Marshfield before moving to Maine and starting his own businesses, Gray Carpentry and Gray-Goes-Green Carpentry, where he recycled old Maine barns and built beautiful furniture out of the recycled barn boards.

Steven had a passion for boating and enjoyed days on the South River in Marshfield relaxing with family and friends in the Deep Hole. Steven was an excellent Father, Grandfather, and Friend. He will be greatly missed.

Steven was the dear father of Joshua Gray (Stephanie Murphy) of Marshfield; grandfather of Joseph and Hailey Gray; brother of Jeffrey Gray of Duxbury, David Gray (Nelda) of Marshfield, and Peter Gray (Beth) of Marshfield; and uncle of Matt, Nathan, Russell, Lowell, and the late Timothy Gray.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Family and friends are then welcome to join the family beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Marshfield Yacht Club, 11 Ridge Road in Marshfield, for a reception to celebrate Steven's life.
