Obituary

Steven 'Hoss' J. Giannetti, of Hyde Park, a one-of-a-kind man, August 28, 2017. Survived by his wife Marie, three sons Tony and his wife Christine, Nicky and Vinny, and three daughters, Nicole and her husband Bret, Trista and Martina; four amazing grandsons: Lucas, Jack, Jesse, and Anthony. Son of Lucy (Scaramuzzo) Giannetti and the late Rudolph Giannetti; Brother of Rudy Giannetti and his wife Kathleen, Linda Mutascio, Judy and Paul Burke, Nancy Giannetti and Dan, and the late Alan Giannetti; Hoss also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Hoss' passions were building and racing down at the drags. A lover of American Graffiti, classic and modern movies, fast cars, motorcycles, loud engines, and of singing and listening to the music of Elvis, Lynyrd Skynyrd, among a few others. Every Sunday since we can all remember, were spent waking up to the amazing, strong and familiar smell of meatballs for breakfast lunch and dinner; Elvis all day, watching the Patriots and Bruins depending the season. He was an affectionate and larger-than-life father, Papa to his grandkids, loving husband, and friend to every person who was ever lucky enough to cross his path, or be brought up in this family.

With his crazy Hoss attitude and famous temper, anyone who knew him experienced that he would take the shirt off his back for you, or build and pull a carburetor out of a hotrod he was building if he saw you both needed and or wanted it. After a tough as nails fight, at 59 years old, he lost the battle against one of the toughest cancers out there. He was way too young to be taken, but prepared his kids since they were old enough to understand that we were all special and talented, to always chase our dreams, as he always did himself.  Hoss always said don't ever let anybody make you feel you're not good enough. "We all put our pants one leg at a time." He was a family man until the end and the toughest, baddest guy you could ever hope to meet, be around, and be loved by in this life. "Who loves ya, man" A phrase that will stay in our hearts for all eternity.
