Obituary

Steven Richard Tomasi passed peacefully in the early morning hours of April 2, 2023. A wonderful husband, father, brother, and friend to so many, Steven was the son of Alfred Tomasi and Louise Federico Tomasi, both predeceased. He leaves Linda, his wife of thirty-five years, and his two children Adam and Ariana. He also leaves his sisters Claudia Lambert, Lydia DiRamio, Dana Plant and their spouses, Jerry, Bob, and Al. Steven was predeceased by his brother, Fredric "Ric" and leaves many nieces and nephews whom he adored. Steven also leaves his dear Ohio State friends and local businessmen whom he admired and trusted. He also had a deep fondness for his employees at the nursery. His personal friends have been his greatest support over the last eight months of his cancer diagnosis.

Steven was the President of A.J. Tomasi Nurseries, Inc.; he had a phenomenal work ethic and enjoyed every minute of his career. As a registered landscape architect, he drew all his plans by hand and had many awards to his credit. The finished product was the gold standard of excellence in his craft. His family will miss his stories and the fun they had together. He loved making his charcuterie boards and homemade gnocchi, showing his pride for his family and Italian heritage, the movies and television of his youth, and all Boston sports. Steven also loved to play senior softball and had many friends on his team.

Steven generously devoted his time and materials from A.J. Tomasi Nurseries, Inc. to many organizations and charities over the years.  Because of this, in lieu of flowers, the Steven Richard Tomasi Foundation has been established. The foundation will be for scholarships for local students pursuing landscape architecture, donations to The Ohio State University, his alma mater, and The American Cancer Society.  Foundation donations can be made out to the Steven Richard Tomasi Foundation, in c/o Coastal Heritage Bank, 83 Summer Street Kingston, MA. O2364. Donations to the Foundation can also be made virtually via GoFundMe using this link: https://gofund.me/e57742e8

Family and friends are invited to Steven's burial in the Mayflower Cemetery, 774 Tremont Street in Duxbury, on Thursday, April 6th at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of life will be held on a later date. We will keep him in our hearts every day of our lives.
