Suzanne Louise Jenkins of Marshfield, Duxbury, and Homosassa, Florida passed away peacefully at 102 years of age on April 18, 2025. Sue grew up in Dartmouth and New Bedford before she and her husband, Walt, and their three children moved to Marshfield in 1967.
Sue's maiden name was Grace, a name which appropriately enough reflects how she lived her life. She was a gentle lady of style who never failed to greet you with her trademark pleasant smile and a few quiet words expressing her pleasure in seeing you. If you were to ask anybody fortunate enough to know Sue, they would tell you that she was blessed with an easy-going nature, and amiable demeanor, and a compassionate heart. Civility was her personal mantra, and kindness was her calling card.
A devoted wife, nurturing mother, doting grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of eight, Sue's family was always her number one priority. Although she and Walt enjoyed wintering in Florida and traveling to various locales around the country and around the world, "home" was truly her happy place and her family, and their accomplishments filled her heart with immense joy.
Up until the last few years of her life when health challenges prevented her from participating in her usual activities - playing golf with her friends at Marshfield Country Club or enjoying the company of the "girls" from her Bridge club, Sue always genuinely appreciated their faithful companionship, good humor, and constant support.
Sue was predeceased by her husband Walter and son Dennis, while leaving behind two children, her son Richard of Englewood, Florida and daughter Leanne Travers (husband Joe) of Marshfield, as well as grandchildren Jocelyn, Hilary, Kevin, and Tom, and great-grandchildren Taber, Wyatt, Cassandra, Joe, Annie, Cam, Dylan and Rhys.
