Teresa Belmosto

d. January 14, 2026

Teresa A. Belmosto, of Marshfield, MA, daughter of the late Erminio “Ernie” and Giacinda “Cindy” Belmosto, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Joseph J. Belmosto.

Known to most as Terry, she is survived by her son, Theodore R. (Alyssa) Adams of Middleboro; her sister-in-law, Holly Belmosto; her nieces, Heather (Ryan) Willinger and Cara Belmosto (Brendan) McAuley; and her nephew, Joseph J. (Jana) Belmosto, Jr. She was a loving great-aunt to her grand-nieces and grand-nephews: Aidan True, Davin True, Chase Belmosto, Cooper McAuley, Brynn Belmosto, Jacqueline Lily McAuley, C. “Beau” McAuley, Paige Belmosto, and Sloan Belmosto, all of Marshfield.

Terry will be remembered for her kind heart and gentle warmth. She had a gift for storytelling and especially loved sharing memories of her childhood growing up alongside “Joey” at their father’s Braintree store, Ernie’s Pearl Street Market. There, by the age of nine, she was manning the store on her own—cutting meat, taking orders, typing and delivering Western Union telegrams—so her father could return home for dinner.

A proud graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1964, Terry was an accomplished student and leader—serving as Head Majorette and earning recognition for her public speaking.

She went on to earn a B.S. from Suffolk University, a Master of Education from Bridgewater State College, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from the University of Massachusetts.

Terry dedicated her professional life to the education of children. She retired in 2004 from the Whitman-Hanson Regional School District, where she served as a school psychologist. Earlier in her career, she spent 20 years teaching first grade in Whitman as Mrs. Terry Belmosto-Adams, where she found particular joy in helping young children learn to read. When faced with a class of 33 first graders who needed something extra, Terry taught herself to play the guitar and would sing to them during dismissal. Her creativity, patience, and belief in every child left a lasting impact on generations of students.

That same care extended beyond the classroom to her family. Terry delighted in thoughtful gestures and was known for giving books, dolls, and blankets to her grand-nieces and grand-nephews, each one chosen with care and meaning.

Visiting hours will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Burial will be in the Blue Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to the Marshfield Education Foundation, in honor of her lifelong dedication to education.
