Obituary
Teresa Angela Jones (nee Buchanan), 89, of Marshfield, MA, daughter of Caroline A. Mason, of Prospect, NS, and James A. Buchanan of Halifax, NS, died January 20, 2015 from complications due to Alzheimer's. Terry was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on October 2, 1925, and married her beloved Charles E. Jones of Brooklyn, NY, in Montreal QC, on August 23, 1947. Terry never tired of exploring the world as long as she was with Charlie, living in Brooklyn, NY; Bozeman, MT; Mumbai, India; Elmhurst, IL; Midland MI; Arlington Heights, IL; Esterhazy, SK; Hitchcock, TX; Den Haag, Netherlands; Bethel Park, PA; and Marshfield, MA.
She found joy in music of all kinds, and was a needlework artist, sewing complicated clothes, knitting sophisticated sweaters, and ultimately creating masterful hooked rugs. She was part of the Cranberry Guild of rug hookers, and taught rug hooking at Braid Aid in Pembroke, MA and at the Marshfield Senior Center. She worked for over thirty years at the Green Harbor Golf Club. She was happiest when near the ocean, and was a naturalist in her love of dogs, wildlife, birds, and gardening. She read avidly, particularly on the history of Ireland. Hardships brought out her faith, her common sense and her humor. She was a homemaker first and a bookkeeper by trade. She is survived by her children: Caroline A. Raser and husband Robert of Westlake Village, CA; Maureen B. Jones of Amherst, MA; Melanie M. Briand and husband Wayne of Halifax, NS; Roberta J. Wills and husband Jonathan of Marshfield, MA; Charles E. Jones Jr. and wife Wendy of Duxbury, MA. Her daughter Colleen M. Jones died on February 12, 1969 and her husband Charles E. Jones died on March 15, 1970. Terry is also survived by her grandchildren: Koren Berrio, Christopher Raser, Lindsay Morris, Alison Mills, Hilary Briand, Emily Briand, Meredith Briand, Brendan Wills, Caitlin Jones, Glynis MacMillan, Jared Wills, and Sarah Jones. She is survived by her great-grandchildren: Phineas Buchanan, Ally Morris, Paige Morris, Emersen Lengema, Bode Seifert, and three more on their way.
Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139 in Marshfield on Monday, January 26, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of the Assumption Church Corner of Canal and Careswell St Tuesday at 10:00 am
Interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery Marshfield
