Thelma Bernice McAuliffe (Clough) of Humarock, Massachusetts passed away on January 28, 2017 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Framingham, MA at Union Hospital and was delivered into this world by her Grandfather, Doctor Frank H. Clough. She was married to Cornelius Charles McAuliffe (deceased) of Elmwood, CT. Her parents were Lloyd O. Clough and Myrtle S. Clough (Hanchett) of Dover, MA. She leaves behind her children, Gwynne L. Gorton and her husband Alfred of Hooksett, NH, Gayle Llewellyn of Manchester, NH, Lori L. Yob and her husband Steven of Spokane, WA, Peter S. Llewellyn and his wife Carol of Wolfeboro, NH and David L. Llewellyn of Humarock, MA, as well as her sister, Roberta L. Miele and her husband, John of Dover, MA., her brother, Barrie H. Clough and his wife Lorraine of Mashpee, MA. She also had a brother, Robert L. Clough who died as an infant.
She also leaves behind 11 loving grandchildren, 9 blessed great grandchildren, two nieces and numerous nephews. We would also be remiss in not mentioning her beloved dog "Bear" that was her four legged companion for many years.
Thelma worked at one of her many passions for years as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. While doing so she was employed by The New Hampshire Hospital in Concord, Lake Shore Hospital and The Farnum Center in Manchester, NH, as well as St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH. She was a source of strength and encouragement for her friends battling addictions and she continued to learn everything she could with regards to this terrible disease.
She also loved to garden and sing in church choirs. When she was younger she was a regular soloist under the direction of Maurice Hoffman, Director of Music at Brookside Congregational Church in Manchester, NH.
When Thelma retired she moved to her beloved home in Humarock that her father built. She spent the next 20+ years there where she was very involved in her community, church and substance abuse assistance. She also loved to walk the beach, relax at home reading a good book and was of course always up for a good game of Scrabble.
Thanks to all her wonderful friends and family who have been with her on her life journey as well as helping out in her time of need. Thanks to the UCC Norwell and their members for their support and providing much appreciated meals as well as the wonderful care provided by her doctors and the staff of Cranberry Hospice.
