Obituary

Theresa P. Alves of Marshfield passed away on June 25, 2021 at the age of 85. She was the beloved mother of Ricardo Bretto and his wife Debra of Sandwich, Candido Bretto of Naples, FL, Angelina Alves of Marshfield, Concetta Gordon and her husband Vance of Rockland, and the late Miguel Bretto; cherished grandmother of Jasmine, Kyle, Anthony, Marcus, and 3 great-grandchildren. Theresa is predeceased by her siblings Helen, June, Gwendolyn, Maurice, Clarence, and Vincent.

Theresa was a homemaker, supervisor for Allied Maintenance, a waitress then manager for Leo's Bakery Marshfield, a foster mother, and a senior customer service representative for Bank of Boston. When Theresa retired from the bank she joined Road To Responsibility and South Shore Arc and made her home a sanctuary for the mentally challenged. Theresa P. Alves was honored for her dedicated work, commitment, and support of the mentally challenged by Community Connections and received an Official Citation by the Massachusetts Senate in June 2016. Theresa did all of those wonderful things but what she truly enjoyed most was spending time with family and friends. She'll be greatly missed.
Services on Thursday, July 1, 2021 will begin with visitation at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield.
