Thomas Gerard Andersen, of Marshfield, passed away Monday March 22 at the age of 78. He was born and raised in Dorchester, MA, son of the late Edward and Mildred Andersen. Throughout his life he was actively involved with the church and enjoyed helping others. He served in the National Guard after completing his education at Northeastern University and then worked for the post office until retirement. In his younger years he enjoyed tennis, skiing, traveling and fishing. He was a coin collector and a history buff. Later he enjoyed gardening and had an extensive backyard garden. He looked forward to giving a variety of vegetables to friends, family, and neighbors. He loved the beach, ponds and iced coffees on a hot summer day.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Nancy (Giordani) Andersen of Marshfield and a brother, Paul Andersen of RI. He is also survived by his 3 sons and a daughter, John Andersen of Hanson, Peter and Philip Andersen of Marshfield, and Lauren Chebator also of Marshfield, as well as 5 grandchildren. He joins his late brother, William Andersen of Mashpee, as well as his grandson Dean Andersen of Marshfield.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield. Burial will be private.
