Thomas J. Barry of Duxbury, formerly of Stuart, Florida, passed away on August 7, 2015 at the age of 79. Loving father of Larissa Falzone and her husband Anthony of Pembroke and Arthur "Chip" Barry of Duxbury and proud Grandfather of Keira Barry and Mia Falzone. Brother of Edmund Barry. Tom was formerly married to Sylvia Barry of Duxbury.
A graduate of Saint Columbkille High School in Brighton, MA, Tom received a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration from Boston University and earned a Masters in Business Administration from Babson College. Additionally he attended the American Institute of Banking. He served in the Air Force Reserve during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962 and enjoyed a long and successful career as a professional computer programmer and consultant, retiring in 2003 as a Manager for Informational Services.
Tom was a former Selectman in the Town of Duxbury and was an active member of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee.
An avid baseball fan, Dad's love of the game inspired him to work at the Braves Field, home to the Boston Braves in the early 1950's. Forever routing for the Boston Red Sox, winning the 2004 World Series was a dream come true for Dad. He also enjoyed watching his beloved New England Patriots and talking history and politics.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street - Rte 139 Marshfield. Friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury.
