Thomas A. Greland Jr. passed away at home on Feb 3rd 2021 after a brave battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was a Marshfield resident for 53 years.

Tom was born in Boston on May 20 1936. He graduated from North Quincy H.S. in 1954 where he was a member of the varsity track team holding records in both shot put and discus. Tom was drafted into the U.S. Army, served 3 years active duty stationed in Japan as well as state side followed by 35 years in the Army reserves. He retired with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer CW3. He completed his studies at Northeastern University.

In 1971 Tom began teaching Business classes at Silver Lake H.S. in Kingston as well as coaching high school softball, teaching Driver's Ed, all the while coaching his children's soccer teams and teaching them "Family First." He retired from the Lake in 1998 after 27 years of teaching.

Tom loved his family, boating on the North River on his boat Katobe, teaching his family to lobster and clam, golfing with family and good friends, and taking care of his rhododendrons and green green grass. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 53 years Margaret Mary, daughters Kathleen Oliver and husband Mitchell of Duxbury, Beth Cizmar and husband Joe of Plymouth, and son Thomas Greland and his wife Candace of Marshfield. He has 6 amazing grandchildren. Rachael and Lily Oliver, Maggie and Grace Cizmar, Maeve and Brody Greland. He leaves his sister Frances Callahan of Florida as well as her sons Michael, Peter, and Gregory; sister in law Oliva McLaughlin and her children Peter, Peggy, and John; late sister in law, Carol Moody, and her children Joseph, Dorothy, Susan, and John.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Christine Parish Church, 1295 Main Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery of Marshfield. Due to restrictions on attendance, space in the church will be limited. The family will be hosting a much larger service in celebration of Tom's life this summer.
