Thomas A. Massey, 79 of Marshfield, passed away on August 8, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He was the cherished husband of Kathleen (Casey) Massey for 32 years. He was a loving father to Wendy Lampa of Quincy, MA and Timothy Lampa and Allison Snow of East Boston, MA. Tom was the treasured " Buppa" to his granddaughter Alyssa.

He was the beloved son of the late John and Barbara Massey of Westwood, MA. He is survived by his sisters Pat (Massey) Parker of Jacksonville, FL and Pam (Massey) Delcore and her husband Hank of Fresno, CA. He is predeceased by his sister Barbara Massey and survived by his sisters-in-law, Elaine Casey of Fall River and Joanne Macken and her husband Robert of Islip, NY and many nieces and nephews.

Tom grew up in Westwood MA and at the age of 19, he enlisted in the US Navy and served for four years during the Vietnam War.

His devotion to the sea led him to a successful career in the maritime industry, first as a merchant seaman then  as a Quality Assurance Manager for Reinauer Transportation Company, Staten Island, NY.

Tom was an avid reader with a passion for History and he enjoyed traveling with Kathy. He loved his family and his country and served both with love and duty. He will be deeply missed.

Tom's family would like to thank the staff at the South Shore Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute that provided him with compassion, warmth, and comfort. For that they are eternally grateful.

Visiting hours will be Thursday August 18, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org .
