Obituary

We would like to celebrate the life of Thomas "Tom" C. (McColgan) Dolan, who passed away peacefully two days after his 49 th birthday on November 12 th , 2021, surrounded by family.

Tom was born and raised in Jamaica Plain, later residing in Weymouth. Tom was a graduate of Weymouth North High School class of 1991 and a long-standing member of the Local 17 Sheet Metal Workers Union. He loved to travel, play golf, the beach, was easy to smile and make people laugh with his never-ending dry wit. He loved life.

Tom was predeceased by his mother, Paula M. (Higgins) McColgan of Jamaica Plain.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of over 7 years, Edmar "Edge" McColgan, from Brazil, who made a home with her husband in the Ocean Bluffs area of Marshfield. Tom and Edge met in 2008 and were married in Maui, on her birthday in 2014.

Tom is also survived by his father, retired BFD Thomas Dolan and his wife Rosemary of West Roxbury and his sister, Molly Dolan, also of West Roxbury. Tom was part of a family rich in Boston fire-fighting history, his grandfather Charles E Dolan, BFD Ladder Company 13 was one of nine firefighters who passed away in the tragic fire and subsequent collapse of the Hotel Vendome in 1972.

Tom is further survived by numerous Aunts and Uncles; Mike Higgins of Kingston, Christine Leslie (Higgins) and Jack Leslie of West Roxbury, Geri Duffy (Higgins) and Hugh Duffy of Duxbury, Patty DeLosh (Higgins) and Chris DeLosh of Ohio, Ricky Higgins of Randolph, and Mark Higgins and Loreen Higgins of Paradise, PA. Tom is also survived by numerous cousins.

Tom is also survived by his former wife, Kristin Leonard of North Weymouth, with whom he remained dear friends.

Please join us in celebrating Tom's life on Sunday, November 21 st , 2021 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield, from 1:00pm-4:00pm.
