Tom Ryan, M.D., 61, of Norwell, MA, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on November 25, 2025, with his sister, Linda, by his side.

He was the beloved son of Marilyn (Lane) and the late Thomas Ryan; brother of Renee Kanash and her husband Bob of Weymouth and Linda Starry and her husband Jim of Emerald Island, NC; and uncle of Rob, Mary, Danny and Timmy.

Tom knew from a very young age he wanted to be a doctor.  He graduated from UMass Medical School in 1992.

He enjoyed building model ships and painting and was a skilled chess player.  He played both the drums and guitar.  Tom loved travelling; his favorite place was Paris, France.  He could happily have spent all his time in the Louvre.  He was smart as a whip and would beat everyone at Jeopardy.

He was very excited to see his Patriots back on the winning track.  He will be cheering for them from heaven!

All of Tom's family was important to him in his last years.  His loving mother Marilyn, sister Renee, brother-in-law Bob, and his cousin John were all constant visitors, as well as his sister Linda who would travel back to MA frequently to see him.  He thoroughly enjoyed the food and companionship.

Tommy will be greatly missed.  His courage and perseverance were unending, but it was time for him to say goodbye.

Services will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield, with an hour of visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon and concluding with a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Couch Cemetery.
