Thomas Vincent, age 62. a longtime resident of Marshfield, died peacefully, Monday, July 30, 2024, at South Shore Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Tom was born and raised on the North Shore. He was the son of Madeline Iris Vincent and the late Kenneth Theodore Vincent. Raised In Rockport, he was a graduate of Rockport High School and UMASS Amherst where he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism.
After college, Tom spent a year in Dublin Ireland managing a restaurant while touring the country. He had many fond memories of Ireland and was able to return with Ellen two years ago for a wonderful vacation. Tom had a very successful career for thirty plus years in the restaurant and wine sales business. He developed many friends and colleagues in the industry and enjoyed his professional life with no plans to ever retire.
Tom and Ellen met on Martha's Vineyard In August 1990. They were an inseparable couple who attracted friends from all walks of life to their home and their boat for rides over to Scituate or on trips to the Spit.
Tom was totally devoted to his family, attending graduations, sporting events, coaching and never missing anything important in their lives and spending summers at the spit whenever possible. They had so many great memories on their boat. Some not so great when the boat got beached a few times and they were unable to return home until hours later when the tide came in. Tom was all about the sea, having grown up in Rockport sailing with friends or out fishing on a power boat. Tom was a great listener and friend who always was ready to show up and not expect anything in return. He always saw the positive side of difficult situations in his and his family's lives.
Beloved husband of Ellen Bottiggi Vincent for 32 years, devoted father of Captain Thomas William Vincent stationed in North Carolina, Elizabeth Quinn Vincent of Marshfield, and Caroline Ellen Vincent of East Boston. Tom leaves behind his mother, Madeline Vincent of Penney Farms, FL and his brother Eoin Vincent and his wife Lisa of Gloucester, MA and Noreen Vincent of Austin, Texas.
