Travers S. King of San Diego, CA passed away on November 26, 2021 at the age of 36. He was the loving son of Janice M. Gherardi of Quincy and Russell F. King of Florida; brother of Dr. Elizabeth Gherardi King-Paulson and her husband Dr. Jordan Paulson; uncle of Cameron Frances Paulson; nephew of Gerald and Cathy Gherardi of Pike, NH and Edward and Barbara Gherardi of White River Junction, VT. Travers also leaves many loving cousins and friends, as well as his beloved dog-nephew, Brigadier General Joshua Lawrence ("Larry") Chamberlain Paulson.

Travers ("Trav") was a graduate of Stoughton High School and received his Associate's Degree in Fire Safety & Prevention from Bunker Hill Community College. A proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard, Trav achieved the rank of Boatswain's Mate Second Class, having served aboard the USCG Cutter Valiant, and stationed at Marine Safety Unit, Morgan City, LA. Trav was recipient of many awards and accolades during his military service, including the USCG Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Meritorious Team Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Ribbon, Global War on Terror Service Medal, "E" Ribbon, Rifle & Pistol Marksman Ribbons, and most notably the Commandant's Letter of Commendation.

Considered a brother by many, Travers left an indelible mark on the lives of all he met. A compassionate soul, Trav had the innate ability to see the good qualities in each person. He will forever be remembered for his selfless nature, always seeking opportunities to provide comfort and aid to those in need. He thrived in the outdoors no matter the season, enjoying time snowboarding, fishing and surfing. A lover of animals and a skilled handyman, when home on the East Coast, Trav could be found exploring beaches and Home Depot with Larry at his side. He also enjoyed honing his culinary skills, but dinner guests were often left to clean up from the resulting hurricane that tore through the kitchen. Trav's baby blue eyes, beaming smile and luminous spirit would light up any room. He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin Street in Braintree. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Agatha Parish Church, 432 Adams Street in Milton. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
