Callander, Wade M., of Duxbury, passed away on March 18, 2016 at the age of 50. Beloved husband of Elise (Stewart) Callander. Loving father of Michael and Nicole Callander of Duxbury. Dear son of Ellen (Laronde) Callander of Walpole and the late Michael M. Callander. Wade also leaves a sister Suzanne Pingeton and her husband Bobby of Franklin, a brother Scott Callander and his wife Lynne of Goffstown, NH, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, T-Bone.
Wade was an avid fisherman and golfer who lived for family, friends and sports. He was always had a smile, a bear hug, and an off-the-cuff joke ... and the best laugh you ever heard. Wade docked his fishing boat in Duxbury Harbor, and belonged to both Duxbury Yacht Club and Plymouth Country Club. A dedicated Dad, he extended his love for sports into coaching for his children's sports teams in their elementary and middle-school years. A Duxbury High School graduate, Wade was a tri-captain on the football team during his own glory days. He went on to attend Ole Miss (University of Mississippi) and later returned to Massachusetts, eventually settling back into his hometown of Duxbury. In 1992, Wade took on the family business, Anchor Insurance Agency. As of 2012, he continued his insurance career at Samuel F. McCormack Adjusters.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte 139) Marshfield. Funeral from the funeral home Wednesday, March 23 at 9:00 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury MA. Interment will be in Mayflower Cemetery, Duxbury.
