Walter J. Leonardi, Jr., of Marshfield, formerly of Brockton, passed away on November 23, 2016 at the age of 88. He was the son of Walter and Alice Leonardi. Walter is the beloved husband of Susie (Hall) Leonardi and dear father of Elizabeth "Libby" Carr and her husband Kevin of Duxbury, and grandfather of Kasey Carr and Cody Carr. Walter also leaves behind his loving feline companion, Leroy.

Walter was a graduate of Brockton High School. He played on the 1945 Championship football team. Walter loved boating, tuna fishing, sitting around Taylor Marine in Green Harbor where he kept a 26 foot Fortier docked there. He served in the Korean War with the Company D 578th Engineering Corp (1950-1952). He worked 25 years as a machinist at Instron Corporation.

An hour of visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street (Rte. 139) in Marshfield. A Funeral procession from the funeral home immediately following visitation will conclude with a Graveside Service with Military Honors at 1:15 p.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
