Walter X. Pierce Jr., devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Friday morning, June 12, 2026.

Walter was the beloved husband of the late Jessie Pierce. They met in 1968, married soon afterward, and built a life together centered on family. He was the loving father of six children: Walter, Chris, Jessica, Debbie, Ryan, and Mary. He is also survived by their spouses and eleven grandchildren.

A native of Quincy, Massachusetts, Walter proudly served in the United States Navy as an aviation radio operator during the height of the Cold War. After his military service, he built a successful career as an executive printing salesman, working with many agencies, including during the early days of Xerox. He and Jessie lived in several South Shore communities before settling in Marshfield, Massachusetts, where they made their home for many years.

Walter enjoyed working on classic cars and spending time on the water. A longtime member of the Green Harbor Yacht Club, he loved boating and sharing time with family and friends along the South Shore.

Walter is survived by his six children, their spouses, eleven grandchildren, and many relatives and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield.
