Obituary

William (Bill) Charles Bacigalupo, 79 of Duxbury passed away on Thursday, October 19th after a long battle with Parkinson's.

Bill was born in Cohasset on February 14th, 1944 to parents Frederick and Ruth, the second of four siblings, all sisters. He graduated from Cohasset High School in 1962 where he played on the football team and made many lifelong friends. He then went on to study at The University Maine, graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1966. After graduation, Bill went on to work for Combustion Engineering helping to build power stations in over 30 countries on every continent across the world.

Bill met his ex-wife Sibbie while she was working as an airline stewardess in the 60's. They were married in 1969 and settled in Windsor, CT in 1974. They had 3 sons together, Gregory, Ned, and John. Bill didn't have much growing up, and worked hard to make sure that his family had everything he did not. William had a long-standing tradition of chopping and splitting wood to heat his house in the winter. While he lived in Connecticut, he spent many summers at Block Island on his 30ft Sea Ray called "Son Fish".  He spent a lot of time fishing and recreational lobster trapping on this boat with his family.  In 1988 the family went to South Africa for a new job opportunity, helping CE build the largest coal fired power station in the southern hemisphere.

On March 28th, 1992 Bill began a new chapter when he married his beloved wife, Hazel. Bill and Hazel just celebrated 31 years of marriage and have faced many of life's trials and tribulations as husband and wife, particularly as Bill's struggles with Parkinson's disease progressed. The couple settled down in a storybook home on the North River in Marshfield where they enjoyed some of their best years, making many special memories that would be cherished, including fishing on his Grady White "Kiss Wolf".

Bill was a hardworking man, always full of energy towards his various businesses and projects. He was a franchisee of Remedy Staffing Solutions in Quincy, and later opened a second branch in Braintree, contributing to the local business community for eight years. Bill spent his last years before retirement in property management, taking care of Dreamwold Condominiums, also working residential construction on over 75 different properties.

Bill is predeceased by; his parents, his sister Jane Dolph, his brothers-in-law Edward Dolph, John Muncey and Ron Cabaniol and his nephew Richard Muncey.

Bill is survived by his wife, Hazel, and his sons, Greg, Ned, John, and his granddaughter Sibbie.  Sisters, Mary Muncey, and Susan Cabaniol, six nieces and nephews, they are; Fran Muncey, and Elizabeth Mannion; Sam Dolph, Cyrus Dolph, Daryl Cabaniol, Chad Cabaniol, and Aleisha Gibbons; their spouses and children. Bill will be remembered for his compassion and kindness, and for the love he had for his family. He was brave, and tenacious, and lived each day to the fullest. William Bacigalupo was an honest man with a strong work ethic who left the world a much better place than he found it.
