Bill embarked on his final journey on October 11, 2023, after living a full and grateful life. Bill grew up in Norwood, he later married his best friend, Marcia, and together they moved to Marshfield, where they raised their daughter Kristin, who was the light of his life. Bill took pride and joy in Kristin, and through her he leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and resilience.
We will remember Bill's gentle ways, even tempered personality and his understated sense of humor, particularly reflected in the humorous picture he chose here, riding a camel, that he hoped would make people laugh.
His favorites times were spent with his family, spoiling his grandchildren, and traveling the world alongside Marcia, seeing all the places that he read about in his school days.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marcia, his daughter Kristin Carcio and her husband Ben of Cohasset, and he held the treasured title of Papa to Ava, Jack and Ella, who brought tremendous joy to his life! He is also survived by his brothers, James, Richard and Paul and was the son of the late William V. and Marguerite Brothers.
Following a long career in banking, Bill retired as CEO/President of STCU Credit Union in Springfield, having previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Cohasset Savings Bank. His contributions extended to numerous banking and community organizations throughout his career.
In honoring Bill's wishes, we will commemorate his life with an intimate celebration rather than a traditional wake and funeral service.
In remembrance of Bill, we kindly request that you consider registering as an organ donor at www.registerme.org.
