Charles, William John, of Marshfield, Sept. 27, at the age of 85, loving father of Patricia LeForestier, Richard, David, Steven and James Charles and Judith Henderson and Christine Willis and the late William J. Charles, Jr. Brother of the late George, Leo, Michael and Jenny Charles. Also survived by l4 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and the late grandchild Jerry John Henderson. He was born in So. Boston, long time resident of Marshfield. Bill was retired from the DPW, Marshfield. He served in the U.S. Marines during WW11. Received the Purple Heart, WW11 Victory Medal, America Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with 2 bronze stars and Commendation Ribbon. He enjoyed family, gardening, claming and camping. A man's work lives after him. Anyone who has ever known him and enjoyed his garden will always be reminded of him every time they pass by. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at l0 a.m. in St. Christine's Church, Marshfield. Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
