William "Bill" E. Hartigan of Marshfield passed away peacefully at home on Sunday April 30, 2023 at the age of 88. He was pre-deceased by his wife Lorraine A. (Savage) Hartigan. He is survived by his children, William R. Hartigan, Michelle M. Hartigan, Robert J. Hartigan and his grandchildren James J. Hartigan and 2 ^nd Lt Bradford W. Hartigan USAF. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, John, Anne Marie, Michael, Stacy, Karen, Jill, Brian, Maryellen, Katie. He was the beloved brother of the late Mary P. "Pat" Hartigan, Barbara A. Hartigan, John J. Hartigan, James R. Hartigan and uncle of Edward.

After his service in the U.S. Army 82 ^nd Airborne Bill had many careers including mechanic for Marshfield Public Works, Cedar View Filling Station, Sinnotts garage, bartender at the Ranch House, laborer/truck driver for Anastasia Brothers Brickworks and technician at Semicon Inc. In retirement he enjoyed puttering around the house/yard as well as helping many friends and family and lounging by the pool surrounded by family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish Church, 40 Canal Street in Marshfield. Interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery, Winslow Cemetery Road in Marshfield.
