William J. Stone of Marshfield passed away on January 1, 2019 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Bettina (Camillo) Stone and dear father of Sharon Conton of Plymouth, Bettina Roth of Weymouth, Ginah Ferriter of Hanson, William Stone (Eleanor) of Plymouth, Michael Stone of Florida, and Paul Stone of Rockland. William also leaves 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and his beloved dog, Cooper.

Bill was a proud veteran, serving in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. As he grew older, he was active with the Veterans' Services of Marshfield and enjoyed marching in the town's Veteran's Day parade for many years.

Bill spent his life living in Brant Rock with his wife of 65 years, Betty. He enjoyed the simple things in life, walking on the beach with his dog, rooting on his favorite Boston sports teams, and just being with his family, making memories and making us all laugh and smile all the time.

He will be dearly missed, but as his favorite music artist Frank Sinatra said, "I did it my way", and that he did.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal Street, Marshfield. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
