Obituary

Judith A. Coakley passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 84. A resident of Duxbury for more than 50 years, she was born in Boston, the daughter of William and Anna Knight. She was the beloved wife of the late Cornelius Coakley of Duxbury; the devoted and loving mother of Eileen Coakley of Plymouth and Christine Griff and her husband Lawrence of Purchase, NY; and the adoring and proud grandmother of Matthew, Rachel, Connor, David, and Michael Griff. She is survived by her brother William Knight and his wife Cynthia of Sharon; and her sisters Anna Marie Longbottom and her husband Eric of Newmarket, NH; Christine Dowd and her husband Philip of Greenland, NH; and Margaret Knight and her husband George Moore of Groton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Judy was a graduate of Boston College, a former teacher, and a retired long-time employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was an avid reader and a great storyteller, with an extraordinary sense of humor. She loved nothing more than spending time with her cherished family.
